Reconstruction
Patients may lose significant amounts of tissue resulting in deformities that may be unsightly or functionally impairing. These may be a consequence of :
- Injuries or accidents (ACC)
- Congenital (birth) anomalies
- Severe infections
- Cancer treatment
As reconstructive plastic surgeons we are experienced in a wide variety of techniques, which are tailored to restore both form and function to correct such deformities.
When possible, we will replace the tissue elements that are missing (skin, fat, nerve, bone, functioning muscle), in an aesthetically sensitive reconstruction, whether it is scar revision, skin grafting, flap reconstruction, tissue expansion or microsurgical reconstruction.
